Whitman County Multiple Listing Service C/O Realtor.com
Buyer Agency what's in it for you?
Traditionally, both listing and selling agents represented the sellers in a real-estate transaction. Even though the selling agent may have spent months with the buyer looking at homes and building a relationship, the agent still had to represent the seller at the closing table. "Something just didn't add up."
In January of 1997 the rules changed. The state of Washington's Buyer Agency Law was the result.
The new Buyer Agency Law allows the selling agent to represent the Buyer as the listing agent represents the Seller, even though the seller often pays the Realtor fee.
